Maureen experienced very hard times at the hands of an aunt who took her in after the death of her mother. The aunt physically and emotionally abused Maureen by denying her food and other basic needs. Maureen is a reserved, hardworking and obedient girl who likes playing soccer and wants to become a police officer in the future.

MCF Malindi provides residential care and rehabilitation to vulnerable girls including street girls, child prostitutes, child laborers, child mothers with their babies, orphaned children, school dropouts, internally displaced children as well as abused and abandoned children. The Vocational Training Center offers hairdressing, beauty therapy, tailoring, and dressmaking for those who have been rescued.
