His mother is a housewife and his father does casual jobs in order to provide for the family. Kahindi was rescued in 2005 to gain access to education, medical needs, and nutritious meals. The results of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) national exam written by all Form 4 (Grade 12) students determine their eligibility for college or university. Mully students who score a D and below on the KCSE are eligible to join Mully College for a two-year certificate program that includes courses such as Social Work Development, Electrical Installation, and Food & Beverage Services. A college certificate will better prepare them to return to their communities able to support themselves and make a positive difference in the world around them.
